In the Praia da Barquinha area, the playground is part of the rehabilitation project for that location, which also includes a new nautical station and a café with a terrace.
“This area is thus established as an excellent space for nautical activities, leisure, and family gatherings, near the Boco River channel,” the municipality highlights in a press release.
In Jardim 31 de Agosto, in Gafanha da Nazaré, the existing playground “showed evident signs of wear due to prolonged exposure to weather conditions and intensive use over the years.”
According to municipal information, the playground at Jardim 31 de Agosto had its flooring renovated, and the area was reorganized to “promote a more welcoming, functional, and sustainable environment.”
Concerning the playground in Vista Alegre, the intervention aimed to correct certain conditions that no longer met current safety standards and certifications.
In addition to replacing the deteriorated swings, “it was necessary to execute the appropriate changes to adapt to current safety standards and implement equipment modernization.”
“The creation and maintenance of these playgrounds reflect the municipality of Ílhavo’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, intergenerational interaction, and the development of children’s motor, social, and cognitive skills,” states the press release.
