As of July 1st, ONDA will circulate more frequently in several urban lines in Lagos.
In a statement, Lagos City Hall explains that the changes, which aim to “adjust the service to the dynamics of population growth, increased demand and their needs,” will impact mainly on the lines serving Sargaçal (Line 5 – The Orange Wave), Barão de São João and Bensafrim (Line 6 – The Green Wave), Monte Judeu and Colégio (Line 7 – The Brown Wave) and the villages of Cotifo and Monte Ruivo (Line 8 – The Purple Wave).
Creating more timetables on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, some on a permanent basis and others during the summer, and increasing the number of circulations during the week are the main reinforcement measures, and adjustments have been made to the timetables of the routes that serve schools of the 2nd and 3rd cycles and high school.
The municipality also says that the Sunday schedules of Line 10 (The Gray Wave) that circulates in the city will be abolished, since the occupancy figures show that the buses are empty at the weekend and especially on Sunday, not justifying the maintenance of schedules on that particular day.
It was also approved, the reduction of the price of tourist tickets for 1, 3, 5, or 7 days, and respective renewal of image, measures that aim to make more attractive this mode of use of urban transport in Lagos.
