The British band Muse joined the chorus of artists paying tribute to the late Portuguese international Diogo Jota on stage this Saturday.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme donned the jersey worn by the forward during his time with the National Team during the band’s performance on the main stage of NOS Alive, marking the last day of the festival.

Last Saturday, singer Robbie Williams dedicated the song ‘Angels’ to the footballer during his show at the RCDE Stadium in Spain, as part of the ‘BritPop Tour’.

The Oasis, returning to the stage after nearly 16 years, dedicated the song ‘Live Forever’ to the athlete during the start of their world tour in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4.

Diogo Jota, aged 28, and his brother André Silva, aged 25, died in a car accident on July 3 on the A52 in Cernadilla, Zamora region, Spain.

The vehicle they were in went off the road following a tire blowout during an overtaking maneuver, leading to a fire. The latest results from the Spanish Civil Guard’s investigation also pointed to possible speeding.
