The mutilated corpse found on Tuesday in Lisbon’s Lapa neighborhood has already been identified as that of a 35-year-old foreign man who has lived in Portugal “for some time”, the Judicial Police revealed today.

In a statement, the PJ pointed out that “the investigation into the finding of the lower limb of a corpse in Lisbon’s Bairro da Lapa is ongoing” and that “the wide range of investigations carried out so far has resulted in elements that allow the identification of the victim to be concluded”.

“This is a foreign man, aged 35, who had been living in Portugal for some time,” said the PJ, without further details.

The body was found on Tuesday in a bag next to a garbage can in Lisbon’s Lapa neighborhood.

A PJ source then confirmed to Lusa that they were contacted at around 03:00 by the PSP, who reported the discovery of a corpse inside a garbage bag.

According to TVI, the body of a man, mutilated, was found by Lisbon City Council employees who were collecting garbage.
