“New record of complaints”. What do the Portuguese complain about the most?

The Portal da Queixa announced on Wednesday that it reached a “new record for complaints” in the first quarter of the year. Consumers logged approximately 58,000 occurrences, marking an increase of 18% compared to 2024.

A total of 57,817 complaints were recorded, showing an 18% growth in the number of grievances compared to the same period in 2024, which saw 48,614 complaints. January reported the highest volume of complaints with 24,310,” according to a statement accessed by Notícias ao Minuto.

The platform’s data indicates that the categories Mail, Transport and Logistics (11%); Communications, TV and Media (10.9%) and Services and Public Administration (8.9%) lead the sectors with the highest volume of complaints in the year’s first three months.

This is followed by the categories Computing, Technology and Sound (6.5%); Banking, Payments and Investments (4.9%) and Shopping, Fashion and Jewelry (4.7%).

“Despite being the most targeted category, Mail, Transport and Logistics simultaneously boasts the highest resolution rate on the platform: 79.17%,” it is further noted.

Additionally, “The geographical distribution analysis reveals that the Lisbon region leads with 31.2% of the total volume of complaints, followed by Porto (17.9%); Setúbal (10.8%); Braga (5.7%); Aveiro (5.3%) and Faro (4.3%).”
