Nokia announced plans to simplify its operational model, organizing its business into two main segments starting January 1, 2026. This move aims to better align with customer needs and speed up innovation.
The first segment, Network Infrastructure, will focus on optical, IP, and fixed networks with the primary goal of capitalizing on the global expansion of AI and data centers.
Simultaneously, Nokia will establish a new division named Mobile Infrastructure, dedicated to radio technologies and central networks, aiming to offer customers native 6G and AI networks.
Nokia also set a new long-term financial target, aiming for a comparable operating profit (excluding extraordinary items) between 2.7 billion and 3.2 billion euros by 2028. This compares to the 2 billion euros generated in the last 12 months from October 2024 to September this year.
This restructuring, which will involve multiple changes in the management leadership, will first be reflected in the financial results of the first quarter of 2026.
