Northern line cut after deadly hit-and-run in Paramos, Espinho

A railway accident that killed one person caused the Northern line to be cut in Paramos, in the municipality of Espinho, several Civil Protection sources told Lusa.

The alert was raised at 08:32 for a hit-and-run accident that caused one death.

Both the Porto Metropolitan Area Sub-regional Command and a source from the Espinho Volunteer Fire Brigade told Lusa at around 9.30am that the northern line had been cut, with no forecast as to when it would reopen.

The incident took place at the Paramos station, in the municipality of Espinho, in the district of Aveiro.

The sex and age of the victim could not be specified.

The Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) from Vila Nova de Gaia, resources from the Espinho Volunteer Fire Brigade and the PSP were called to the scene.

The Lusa news agency contacted CP to request information and is awaiting a response.
