NOS’ profit fell 5.7% in the first half, compared to the same period in 2022, to 80.5 million euros, impacted by investment and the macroeconomic context, the operator announced today.
“Net income attributable to NOS shareholders decreased 5.7% to 80.5 million euros, given the sharp growth in depreciation and amortization as a result of the continuous investments that the company has been making, as well as the increase in interest rates in the cost structure and due to the current macroeconomic context”, explains the company led by Miguel Almeida.
Consolidated revenues “grew 4.5% to 775.2 million euros”, NOS said in a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM).
Telecoms revenues rose 3.5% to €746.6m as the number of services increased, with “9% growth in post-paid mobile services”.
Cinema and audiovisual revenues grew by 15.2% to €45 million, with ticket sales in cinemas growing by 36.8% to €3.5 million”.
Consolidated earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew 9.4% year-on-year to €352.6 million, “with telecommunications EBITDA reaching €331.3 million, up 10.1% on the previous year”.
