
Among the remaining half, “most will be offered early retirement proposals, and some will be proposed mutual termination agreements,” states a communiqué signed by the Financial Sector Union Mais, National Union of Banking, Insurance and Technology Workers (SBC), and the Union of Workers of the Financial Sector of Portugal (SBN).
The three unions affiliated with UGT also report that they have already received “comprehensive clarifications” from Unicre’s management regarding the workers’ situation.
Effective from November 5, Novo Banco notified the Competition Authority about acquiring exclusive control over the Unibanco business unit, owned by Unicre.
Unicre is a financial credit institution active in consumer credit, issuance and management of credit cards, insurance mediation in financial products, as well as in the acquiring business, which holds and operates the Unibanco business unit.
Unibanco is dedicated to offering financial products and services, namely consumer credit and credit cards, to individual and business clients in Portugal.
