OE2025. Late payments fall to 341.6 million by February

At the end of February, outstanding payments by public entities amounted to 341.6 million euros. This marks a decrease of 105.2 million euros compared to the same period last year and an increase of 25.1 million euros compared to the previous month, according to the report from the Directorate-General for Budget (DGO).

The DGO notes that the most significant year-on-year decrease in overdue payments was observed in the healthcare sector, with a reduction of 74.5 million euros. This was followed by the Central Administration excluding entities in the healthcare sub-sector (-55.8 million euros), Local Administration (-16.6 million euros), and Reclassified Public Entities (-5 million euros).

This reduction was “partially offset by the increase recorded by the Regional Administration (46.7 million euros).”

In terms of monthly variation, “the largest contributions were recorded in EPE Health Units (19.2 million euros) and Regional Administration (5.1 million euros),” according to the DGO.
