The Social Security surplus increased to 3,673.9 million euros in the first six months of the year, the budget execution summary revealed today.
By May, the surplus stood at 2,914.1 million euros.
The document released today by the Budgetary Authority (formerly DGO — Directorate-General for Budget) indicates that the accumulated value up to June is higher than the 3,190.8 million euros reported in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the effective revenue totaled 21,296.9 million euros, surpassing last year’s 19,606.5 million euros.
Highlighted in this period are categories such as the solidarity supplement for the elderly (50.6%), caregiver subsidies (36.5%), and pensions for former combatants (29.3%).
Conversely, notable declines were seen in the exceptional pension supplement (-100%), extraordinary support complement for children and youth (-92.8%), and the exceptional and temporary Covid-19 measures (-74.2%).
