The financial statements accessed by Lusa reveal that the community of twelve municipalities in the Oeste region achieved a net positive result of 3,576,273.75 euros in December 2024.
This continues the upward trend observed in previous years, with a positive outcome of 2.9 million euros in 2023, marking an increase of 1.9 million euros compared to 2022.
The accounts, presented to deputies today, indicate that revenue collected in 2024 reached 20,796,993 euros, reflecting a 20% increase compared to 2023.
Total expenditure amounted to 15,871,548 euros, registering a 12% rise from the previous year’s spending.
According to the financial statements, OesteCim holds a management balance exceeding 11.2 million euros, attributed to the “good governance” implemented by the intermunicipal executive, led by Pedro Folgado (PS).
The financial documents showed that in 2024, OesteCim launched 33 initiatives “aligned with megatrends and sustainable development goals,” including 14 digital projects, nine social inclusion initiatives, six climate action projects, and four in territorial development.
The financial statements were unanimously approved during what marked the last meeting of the current composition of the Intermunicipal Assembly. The next meeting, scheduled for December, will occur following the municipal elections expected in September.
OesteCim comprises the municipalities of Alcobaça, Bombarral, Caldas da Rainha, Nazaré, Óbidos, Peniche, in the district of Leiria, and Alenquer, Arruda dos Vinhos, Cadaval, Lourinhã, Sobral de Monte Agraço, and Torres Vedras, in the district of Lisbon.
