An officer from the Public Security Police (PSP) was assaulted over the weekend in the Setúbal area after being recognized by a group of five men. The assault was confirmed by a police source.
The officer, belonging to the Special Unit, was off duty and was beaten after being recognized in a nightlife area. He reportedly suffered punches and kicks from the group, resulting in a cerebral contusion, and was transported to the hospital.
One suspect was detained at the scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the causes of the incident and identify the remaining suspects who fled.
