The Lisbon Metro announced on Tuesday the availability of online registration for the Circula PT card, offering discounts on intermodal transport to those entitled to social benefits.
“With this improvement, the process can now be initiated entirely online by digitally submitting the necessary information and documents, allowing for the pre-validation of data. Only a visit to the Customer Space is needed to complete the registration and profile recording, ensuring a smoother experience with reduced waiting times,” the transport company stated in a release sent to Notícias ao Minuto.
The Metro noted that the new online registration feature for the Circula PT card “offers customers a set of significant advantages”:
“The process stands out for its convenience and speed, as it begins digitally, eliminating the need for initial lines or travel. The in-person stage, when required, is quick and solely focuses on confirming and activating the profile, ensuring greater efficiency in service. This solution also strengthens accessibility by following the successfully implemented model used with the Youth Free Pass. Lastly, the process is distinguished by its transparency and simplicity, boasting a clear interface, intuitive registration, and direct communication with the user,” it stated.
Circula PT: Who can benefit?
According to the Metro, the Circula PT card “continues to ensure significant discounts on intermodal transport, promoting more accessible mobility for those in need.”
“Beneficiaries of the Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly (CSI), the Social Insertion Income (RSI), or holders of a Multiuse Disability Medical Certificate (AMIM) with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 60% are entitled to a 50% discount. Meanwhile, retirees, pensioners, and recipients of unemployment benefits, among others, whose monthly income does not exceed 1.2 times the value of the IAS, can benefit from a 25% discount on intermodal transport,” it reads.
Online registration can be done via the Metro’s website here, where information on requirements and necessary documentation is also available.
