The Ordem dos Médicos (OM) has decided to forward the report concerning additional surgeries performed by a dermatologist at Hospital de Santa Maria, who received over 700,000 euros over three years, to the Disciplinary Council.
An OM source informed that the decision was based on “issues of a deontological nature,” which are now to be reviewed by the Southern Disciplinary Council, taking into account the conclusions from the Inspeção-Geral das Atividades em Saúde (IGAS).
The same source confirmed that OM received the IGAS report on Friday, and the decision to refer the case to the disciplinary body was made this afternoon.
