Spring appears to have finally arrived in the country, as the last weekend was marked by sunshine and temperatures reaching the 20-degree range across most of mainland Portugal. Sunday was particularly warm, with the highest temperature recorded at 28.6 degrees, as reported by the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
This peak temperature was observed at the Lamas de Mouro station in the municipality of Melgaço.
In Vila Nova de Famalicão, temperatures reached a high of 27.2 degrees, followed by Aljezur, where the station recorded 26.9 degrees.
On Saturday, the highest temperature was recorded in Barrosinha, Alcácer do Sal, with thermometers reaching 27.5 degrees.
The pleasant weather is expected to continue this Monday, March 31st. Maximum temperatures will range from 24 degrees in Santarém to 16 degrees in Guarda, while minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 11 degrees in Faro and 3 degrees in Bragança.
Expect clear or lightly cloudy skies, with stronger winds in the highlands.
