A traffic collision on a forest road in Gafanha da Vagueira, Vagos, was reported around 4:00 PM.
The accident involved a head-on collision between two light vehicles, one a cargo vehicle and the other a passenger vehicle, and a truck.
The deceased is identified as the driver of the light cargo vehicle.
The man was trapped in the wreckage and succumbed to his injuries, with death being declared on the scene by a doctor from the National Institute of Medical Emergency.
The driver of the other light vehicle, a 48-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries.
Emergency services, including the Vagos Fire Department and the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) team from Aveiro, along with the GNR, were dispatched to the site.
