A fire was reported at 2:50 am at number 4, Rua 25 de Abril, according to a source from the Sub-regional Command of the Setúbal Peninsula.
The blaze was contained to one unit, resulting in the evacuation of 24 people who have since returned home.
“There was one minor injury due to smoke inhalation and one fatality,” the source stated, adding that the causes of the fire are still unknown, and the Judicial Police remain at the scene.
According to the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection portal, as of 7:00 am, 21 operational personnel supported by 12 vehicles were still at the location.
