The injured individual was transported to the Hospital of Famalicão, located in the Braga district, according to the Ave Sub-Regional Command. Residents affected by the incident were taken in by relatives.
The fire broke out around 2:30 am and was battled by personnel from two local volunteer fire brigades.
The displaced individuals were living in the apartment where the fire erupted.
