A 40-year-old man sustained serious injuries on the morning of Thursday, November 6, in a collision between two vehicles on the A4 highway in Mirandela.
The Bragança District Relief Operations Command reported that the accident occurred at kilometer 146, in the Bragança to Vila Real direction.
The vehicles involved in the rear-end collision were a light goods vehicle and a heavy goods vehicle.
An INEM helicopter was dispatched to the scene. However, the injured person is expected to be transported by land to Vila Real Hospital.
The source further mentioned that the road was closed to traffic in the Bragança-Vila Real direction. However, traffic in that direction was resumed around 9 a.m.

The alert for the accident was issued at 8 a.m. According to the Civil Protection website, on-site were 16 personnel and five vehicles, as well as the helicopter, from the Mirandela Fire Department, INEM, and the National Republican Guard (GNR).
