The Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police detailed an operation that took place late last night and into the early hours of today in Cova da Moura, Amadora, in the Lisbon district.
A statement released this afternoon confirmed the arrest of four individuals.
During the operation, several establishments lacking usage licenses were inspected.
At one location, drugs and money were found behind the counter, leading to the arrest of the 44-year-old female owner for drug trafficking.
“In addition to this situation, there were two more arrests for resistance and coercion. The first concerned a 29-year-old woman who refused to hand over her bag for inspection. Due to suspicions that it might contain a weapon, it was necessary to use the strictly necessary force to restrain her and seize the bag,” the statement reports, noting that the bag contained 16,550 euros, whose origin could not be justified and was thus seized on the suspicion of being illicitly obtained.”
