Over five million Portuguese tax returns have been submitted as the deadline for filing through the Finance Portal approaches.
As of 1:47 am on Monday, June 16, 5,178,499 IRS returns had been filed.
Notably, taxpayers can submit their returns to the Tax Authority (AT) until the end of June.
In May, the Ministry of Finance provided Notícias ao Minuto with updates on the 2024 IRS campaign, revealing that €322.6 million in tax refunds had been paid by that date.
“Transfers for the payment of more than 480,000 refunds, totaling €322.6 million, have already been issued, with an average payment time of 14.1 days, which is shorter than the timeframe recorded in 2024 for the same period,” stated a ministry source.
This means that the average refund amount was €672.
