The total number of passengers flying between islands reached approximately 240,000, with the airports of Praia, São Vicente, and Sal being the busiest in that order.
This growth reflects a trend already observed in the first quarter and aligns with data released by Cabo Verde Airlines (TACV), which reported transporting more passengers on domestic flights from January to August than in all of 2024.
In 2024, the concession granted to the operator Bestfly collapsed, necessitating the entry of state-owned TACV, which until then only operated international routes, to rescue domestic connections.
The latest data from AAC also shows a year-on-year increase of 10.8% in international passenger traffic through July this year (664,000 arrivals and 829,000 departures).
In 2023, the government granted the public airport service concession to Cabo Verde Airports, a company under the Vinci group, which is modernizing and expanding the four international airports (Boavista, Praia, Sal, and São Vicente) and three aerodromes (Fogo, Maio, and São Nicolau), as part of a 40-year investment plan.
