A source from the GNR General Command disclosed that following a tragic accident occurring Saturday afternoon, the vehicle’s owner reported the car as stolen at a police station in the southern zone.
The driver remains unidentified as investigations proceed to determine their identity, according to the GNR source, who refrained from commenting on whether the car involved in the incident has been found.
The collision took place along the Estrada Nacional 377 (EN377) near the village of Caixas, within the municipality of Sesimbra, claiming the life of a 47-year-old motorcyclist.
In the aftermath of the collision, the car’s driver fled the scene. However, accident witnesses provided the vehicle’s license plate to the authorities.
