“It is essential to share with the Porto district what our work and vision are for the country and the region,” stated Inês de Sousa Real to journalists.
During a campaign event in Baltar, within the Paredes municipality, where she attended a women’s under-16 handball match, the leader highlighted that “people’s votes [in the Porto district] can indeed give PAN a parliamentary group.”
If this goal is achieved, the party spokesperson continued, it will lead to more work, increased scheduling opportunities, presentation of proposals, and resources to support the causes PAN represents in the Assembly of the Republic.
“There are many undecided people who don’t know whom to vote for. Regardless of the party they supported in previous elections, we appeal for them to vote for the causes they believe in this time, such as sports, which are often overlooked during electoral campaigns,” she noted.
Inês de Sousa Real emphasized that the campaign event held in a school pavilion during a women’s handball game, alongside local supporters, had a “symbolic objective” to highlight the importance of sports in fighting gender inequality, promoting inclusion, and its significance in people’s lives.
“We know we need more investment in various areas to support athletes who dedicate themselves professionally to sports and frequently represent our country abroad,” she remarked.
Regretting that sports have been absent from the election campaign theme, she stressed the importance of supporting school sports and their continuity throughout life, including issues related to women.
