Papa Johns has opened a new store in Barreiro, marking its first location on the southern shore and the seventh unit of the pizza chain in the Portuguese market.
This opening is part of Papa Johns’ expansion plan for this year, aimed at consolidating its presence in Portugal.
“We are very pleased to continue growing in the region,” stated Nacho González Barrajón, General Manager of Iberia for the chain, in a press release.
The executive added that Papa Johns “aims to open more than 10 stores in the Lisbon area this year and plans to expand to other strategic cities in Portugal.”
The investment for each store varies depending on its size, but it is estimated that the total investment for the 10 new units in Portugal this year will exceed 2.5 million euros, creating over 100 jobs, according to figures from the restaurant chain.
