
At the conclusion of the electronic vote, in which a total of 228 deputies participated, PSD and CDS-PP deputies stood to applaud, and the President of the Parliament, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, wished the government “good luck”.
The minority PSD/CDS government, led by Social Democrat Luís Montenegro, now fully assumes its functions, following the evaluation of the Government Program in the Assembly of the Republic.
The XXV Constitutional Government is supported by 91 deputies—89 from the PSD and 2 from the CDS-PP—out of 230, in a parliament where Chega holds 60 seats, PS 58, IL 9, Livre 6, PCP 3, CDS-PP 2, and BE, PAN, and JPP have one deputy each.
