Partial strike at CP led to the cancellation of 59 trains until 08:00.

The regional trains experienced the most significant disruptions, with 31 out of 67 scheduled services being canceled. In the case of long-distance services, seven out of the 13 planned were not completed, as reported by CP – Comboios de Portugal.

All scheduled urban train connections in Lisbon were completed (111), while in Porto, 17 out of 52 scheduled trains were canceled.

In a statement this morning, Luís Bravo from the SFRCI – Sindicato Ferroviário da Revisão Comercial Itinerante, which organized the four-day partial strike from 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., indicated that the strike saw 100% participation, with only the 25% minimum services required by the Arbitration Tribunal being fulfilled.

“Today, only a few effects are expected on long-distance trains. The urban ones should be normalized,” stated Luís Bravo.

According to Bravo, the strike clearly demonstrated the indignation of workers protesting against low wages.

Train drivers and inspectors at CP are participating in the last day of strikes today, advocating for salary increases and collective bargaining, a protest that has caused various disruptions to train services.

The strikes, organized by several CP unions, began on May 7 and continue through today.

Workers are demanding salary increases, the implementation of a restructuring agreement for salary scales, and the defense of collective bargaining.

The Train Drivers’ Union (SMAQ) marks the last day of their overtime strike today, while the SFRCI initiated a strike by inspectors and ticket office workers on Sunday.

Throughout the past week, CP – Comboios de Portugal has been alerting about the disruptions caused by these strikes.
