A recreational vessel was found partially submerged on Saturday morning at the Boaventura marina in Santa Cruz, Madeira Island.
The National Maritime Authority (AMN) announced that the vessel reportedly became partially submerged “due to, allegedly, water entering aboard”.
“After receiving an alert at 07:30 a.m. from the vessel’s owner indicating that the vessel was partially submerged, elements of the Funchal Maritime Police Command were immediately dispatched to the site,” the statement read.
Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that “the vessel was partially submerged with no signs of pollution.”
The owner was “notified to remove any debris and to present a refloating plan for the vessel.”
