Party leaders further south on the 2nd day of the campaign for the Local Elections

On the second day of the local election campaign, Luís Montenegro will be replaced in the PSD campaign by the party’s secretary-general and parliamentary leader, Hugo Soares, who will be active in the Faro district.

In the Algarve, Hugo Soares will visit Loulé, São Brás de Alportel, Vila Real de Santo António, and Tavira, engaging with the public and presenting PSD candidates.

Meanwhile, the PS secretary-general, José Luís Carneiro, will be in the districts of Lisbon and Portalegre, starting his day with a train journey from Sintra to the capital, then visiting Crato and Campo Maior, before attending a rally in Elvas.

The secretary-general of the PCP, Paulo Raimundo, will be in Viana do Alentejo in the Évora district in the morning, followed by Sesimbra in the Setúbal district, and then in Coimbra.

The president of Chega, André Ventura, having no initiatives on the first day of the campaign, had not disclosed his agenda for today by the end of Tuesday.

IL president Mariana Leitão will be in Alcobaça and Caldas da Rainha, in the Leiria district, focusing on education and housing.

Rui Tavares, spokesperson for Livre, will campaign today in the Setúbal district, first in Seixal with a boat tour alongside BE, a coalition partner in this municipality, and later in the city of Setúbal.

In the local elections on October 12, voters will elect the governing bodies of 308 municipal councils, 308 municipal assemblies, and 3,221 parish assemblies. Another 37 parishes will choose their executives in citizen assemblies due to having fewer than 150 voters.
