National airports handled 4.3 million passengers in February, corresponding to a year-on-year increase of 7.3%, maintaining the growth trend of recent months, according to INE data released today.
According to the rapid statistics on air transport published by the National Statistics Institute (INE), in February there were still all-time highs in monthly passenger numbers at national airports, with an average daily landing of 76,600 passengers, 4% more than in February 2023.
France was the main country of origin and destination for flights, despite a drop of 6.6% in the number of passengers disembarked and 6.4% in those embarked compared to the same period last year (-6.6%; -6.4%).
This was followed by Spain and the United Kingdom as the main countries of origin, and in reverse positions as the main countries of destination.
In February, national airports handled 19,600 tons of cargo and mail, an increase of 16.3% on the same month last year.
