
A passenger aboard the ‘Celebrity Equino’ was rescued on Wednesday, April 30, after suffering a “severe internal hemorrhage.”
The vessel was navigating approximately 80 nautical miles, equivalent to 148 kilometers, southwest of Sagres, the Portuguese Navy stated in a communiqué.
“The ship reported a passenger with a severe internal hemorrhage. Following remote assessment by CODU-MAR, an urgent medical evacuation was deemed necessary,” the note disclosed.
The agency emphasized its commitment to ensuring continuous response to incidents that might occur in national maritime jurisdictions, utilizing its Maritime Search and Rescue Centers.
