The candidacy of Manuel Pizarro for the Porto City Council is supported by public figures such as musician Pedro Abrunhosa and the city’s journalist and historian Germano Silva.
The pair attended the inauguration of the PS campaign headquarters on Monday at Praça Mouzinho de Albuquerque, Rotunda da Boavista, in Porto, among more than a hundred supporters of the former Minister of Health in the municipal elections race.
In addition to Pedro Abrunhosa and Germano Silva, the event was attended by the Vice-Rector of the University of Porto, Fátima Vieira, along with various independent councilors and parish presidents.
PS deputy Tiago Barbosa Ribeiro described the event as a “crowd with a lot of energy and joy.”
“Besides numerous PS members and sympathizers, we obviously had many citizens without party affiliation and from other parties who recognize themselves in this project that includes the entire Porto. Dozens have already participated in the presentation of the candidacy, such as Virgílio Bento (Sword Health), António Oliveira, or Jaime Pacheco, among many others. (…) Our headquarters will be a space for work, socializing, and dissemination of our ideas, open every day from morning to night,” wrote Tiago Barbosa Ribeiro on X (ex-Twitter).
The municipal elections are expected to take place between September and October this year.
