Pedro Duarte takes office in the Porto Chamber on November 5.

Due to a public notice signed today by the outgoing president of the Municipal Assembly, Sebastião Feyo de Azevedo, the installation ceremony for the Municipal Assembly and the Porto City Council, following the election, is scheduled for November 5 at 18:00 at the Monastery of São Bento da Vitória.

In a second notice, Feyo de Azevedo also called for the first meeting of the Municipal Assembly on the same day at 21:30, with the sole agenda of electing the president and secretaries of the body’s board.

On October 12, the coalition PSD/CDS-PP/IL succeeded in electing Pedro Duarte as the city’s mayor and five more councilors. The Socialist Party, led by Manuel Pizarro, also secured six council seats, and Chega elected one councilor, Miguel Corte-Real.

For the Municipal Assembly, the PSD/CDS-PP/IL coalition won 15 seats, the PS 13, Chega four, Livre two, the independent movement led by Filipe Araújo two, CDU (PCP-PEV) also two, and Bloco de Esquerda one.

As for the parish councils, whose presidents are ex officio members of the Municipal Assembly, the PSD/CDS-PP/IL coalition won five out of seven, while the PS secured the remaining two.
