“When the AD has to deal with a crisis, it’s always the same people who pay, it’s the people, it’s the workers. This was the case during the crisis they had to manage under Pedro Passos Coelho’s leadership,” stated Pedro Nuno Santos at a rally in Vila Real, concluding the sixth day of campaigning.
The socialist leader warned that the country is not “in normal times,” describing the current climate as one of “great uncertainty,” on the brink of a “commercial war” and “an economic crisis.”
“We know how they handle crises. Now imagine AD facing an economic crisis that is on the horizon alongside the IL. AD, accompanied by the IL, is the radical coalition that will jeopardize the welfare state and seize the crisis to attack the social state, the National Health Service, pensions, and public schooling,” he remarked, reiterating a theme expressed throughout the day.
Pedro Nuno Santos emphasized that the PS is a “pillar of stability.”
“The PS has always been the safe harbor for the Portuguese people throughout history and during the country’s most challenging moments. The people can always rely on the PS,” he stressed.
