“I don’t even understand what confidence there is because [the AD] approaches this campaign with poor results, poor results especially in the economy, and we all know what happens when we face an economic and financial crisis,” stated Pedro Nuno Santos at the Teatro Jordão, following a brief walkabout in Guimarães, Braga district.
He accused: “When the AD governs, their way of handling the crisis is to cut, cut salaries, cut pensions, and cut social spending. That’s what they did in the last crisis we faced in Portugal.”
Pedro Nuno Santos emphasized that Luís Montenegro ends a year of governance “with the economy falling” and “health worse than it was.”
“And you know what it means when an economy starts to fall. When an economy begins to decline, it means our companies are selling less, and when companies sell less, they aren’t earning, and it’s only a matter of time before it impacts workers, their salaries, and their jobs,” he concluded.
