
The announcement was made by Pedro Pinto, who stated that he was elected with 84% of the votes. According to Pinto, out of the 60 Chega deputies, 56 cast their votes, with the remaining four being out of the country.
The parliamentary leader also noted that there were “nine blank and null votes,” resulting in the new leadership being elected with 47 votes.
In addition to Rita Matias, deputies Cristina Rodrigues, Jorge Galveias, Nuno Gabriel, and Daniel Teixeira were also elected as vice-presidents of the Chega parliamentary group.
