The play “Pinocchio and the magic sheet” is the next creation to open on September 9 at the Meridional Theater in Lisbon, directed by Patrícia Pinheiro.
“We are all puppets” and “we became real people when we began to obey the only intrinsic thread: our brain, our thoughts”, reads a note about the show.
With a text by Rui Xerez de Sousa, based on “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi, “Pinocchio and the Magic Sheet” is performed by Catarina Rabaça, Nuno Távora, Tadeu Faustino and Zé Bernardino.
The stage is designed by Marta Fernandes da Silva, the costumes by Marta Iria and the light design by Almeno Gonçalves.
The show has the artistic assistance of Natália Luiza and Miguel Seabra, founders and artistic directors of Teatro Meridional.
The text of the play was created as part of the first edition of Teatro Meridional’s 2020 Text Adaptation Laboratory.
The play is on stage from September 9 to October 1, with family sessions on Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00.
