The wildfire in a brush area began on August 13 at 5:08 AM in Piódão and spread to several neighboring municipalities, affecting the districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco, and consuming more than 57,000 hectares.
As of 12:52 PM, 1,292 personnel continued their overhaul operations on the ground, supported by 432 vehicles and six aerial units, according to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority.
