The Judicial Police (PJ) of Aveiro announced the arrest of a 52-year-old man in northern Portugal, suspected of sexually abusing his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
Investigators revealed that the incidents took place at the family’s residence in São Pedro do Sul during moments when the suspect was alone with the victim.
The arrest follows an investigation initiated after a complaint was filed by the girl’s mother.
The PJ stated that the suspect was brought before the judicial authorities in the Viseu district for a preliminary hearing, where the highest level of preventive measures was enforced.
