A 32-year-old man was arrested in Évora on charges of attempted murder, the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) disclosed in a statement sent this Thursday.
Investigators indicated that the crime took place in the same city in the Alentejo region on March 25. The suspect allegedly attacked another man, aged 37, with a scythe due to “trivial motives.” Both individuals are foreign nationals.
The detainee has since been brought before a judicial inquiry, where the most severe preventive measure, pre-trial detention, was imposed.
