Three men, aged between 21 and 48, were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking in Lisbon, as announced by the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) on Wednesday, August 13.
Investigators stated that the suspects “were systematically involved in the preparation and supply of various drug distribution points” in the Portuguese capital.
During Operation Louro, as it was named, the PJ’s National Unit Combatting Drug Trafficking, with the support of the police’s Armament and Security Unit, conducted five searches. These resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of heroin, cocaine, and hashish, as well as three vehicles, several mobile phones, dozens of rounds of ammunition, several thousand euros in cash, a money-counting machine, precision scales, and other items typically used in drug trafficking.
The detainees, who have prior criminal records, will now be brought before a court for an initial judicial inquiry and the imposition of appropriate coercive measures.
The PJ noted that the ongoing investigation began in 2024, and it is being overseen by the Department of Criminal Investigation and Penal Action of Lisbon.
