The Judiciary Police (PJ) conducted searches on the morning of Wednesday, April 9, at three prison facilities on suspicions of corruption and trafficking of anabolic drugs.
Reports indicate that at least eight guards have been detained.
The operations are taking place at the prisons in Lisbon, Linhó, and the facility adjacent to the criminal investigation police.
Efforts to confirm the arrests with the PJ have so far been unsuccessful.
