A comprehensive operation is being conducted this morning by the Polícia Judiciária targeting various public entities over allegations of corruption.
The operation includes approximately 80 searches involving more than 200 PJ inspectors.
The investigation focuses on suspected crimes including corruption in the procurement of goods and services for state organizations, potentially amounting to fraud in the tens of millions of euros. One focus of the searches is the premises of the Bank of Portugal.
SIC Notícias also identifies EPAL and other public entities such as the Ministry of Justice as being involved.
