The Polícia Judiciária (PJ) is conducting investigations to locate those responsible for abandoning a newborn baby found dead on Wednesday night at a landfill in Coimbra, a police source announced today.
The Centro Directorate confirmed that a newborn was discovered deceased at the ERSUC – Resíduos Sólidos do Centro facilities in Vil de Matos, Coimbra municipality, as reported on Wednesday by Diário de Coimbra.
Initially, the GNR handled the incident, but the case was immediately transferred to the PJ, which currently has not provided further information.
