The two foreign men suspected of the crimes are known to the victims, who are also immigrants, and have been identified, according to police sources.
In the early hours, the alleged attackers reportedly forced their way into a house accommodating about 10 immigrant agricultural workers. They assaulted two individuals and set a fire that spread throughout the residence.
The victims sustained minor injuries. One received treatment at the Basic Urgent Care Service at the Moura Health Center, while the other was taken to the emergency department of Beja Hospital.
The Judicial Police confirmed they are investigating the cause of the fire.
A representative from the Baixo Alentejo Emergency and Civil Protection Sub-Regional Command reported receiving an alert at 01:27 for a house fire on Rua de Oliveira, in the city center of Moura. It was also confirmed that two individuals were injured due to the assaults.
Diogo Saraiva, coordinator of the Moura Municipal Civil Protection Service, noted that the house is now uninhabitable and that the 10 residents have been rehoused by their employers.
The emergency response involved the Moura Firefighters, the Moura Municipal Civil Protection Service, and the PSP, totaling 16 personnel and five vehicles in the operation.
