Plane with Portuguese repatriated from Israel has already landed in Lisbon

The aircraft transporting Portuguese citizens requesting repatriation from Israel, following the conflict with Iran, landed today at 7:45 PM at Figo Maduro airfield in Lisbon.

This repatriation operation was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the Secretary of State for Communities, Emídio Sousa, present at Figo Maduro airfield.

The Portuguese citizens who flew today from Israel to Portugal, on a TAP aircraft scheduled to arrive at 6:00 PM, are being transported to Lisbon airport, where their families await them.

The Portuguese government announced this week the temporary closure of the embassy in Tehran alongside the continuation of repatriation operations in the Middle East.

The war between Israel and Iran began at dawn on June 13 with Israeli bombings targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities, which resulted in the deaths of military leaders, scientists, and civilians.

More than 400 European Union citizens from countries such as Slovakia, Lithuania, Greece, and Poland were evacuated from Israel following the closure of Israeli airspace due to regional tensions, on flights supported by the European Commission.
