According to the statement submitted to the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), with this agreement “EDPR secures revenue under a ‘floor’ structure and profit-sharing for a 60 MW (241 MWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Poland”.
By the end of 2024, the project had already secured a capacity payment contract through Poland’s primary capacity market auction, which will be cumulative to this agreement, resulting in a high contracted net present value, in line with EDPR’s investment criteria, added the EDP subsidiary in the note.
This project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2027.
“With this agreement, one of the first of its kind in Poland, EDPR reinforces its commitment to innovation and the development of new technologies, highlighting its critical role in energy storage, maximizing the potential of renewable energies, promoting the acceleration of the energy transition and the decarbonization of the economy,” the company stated.
