The project is supported by the Champalimaud Foundation, a scientific research and multidisciplinary cancer treatment organization, aiming to “promote accurate information, fact-check, and demystify myths about oncology,” the statement reads.
“On the ‘Vital’ site, as well as on the platforms of Polígrafo and Viral Check, various content regarding cancer will be published, including fact-checking texts, explainers, interviews, first-person testimonies, videos, and a themed podcast,” the Portuguese fact-checker notes.
“This is a project we are very proud of, aligning with our fundamental purpose: disseminating quality information that can have a real impact on people’s lives,” said Polígrafo director Fernando Esteves in a statement.
The Champalimaud Foundation states that “this partnership strengthens both entities’ commitment to health literacy and combating misinformation in the oncology field.”
