
According to Idalina Trindade, many residents from Vinagra, São Simão, and Pé da Serra continue to gather at the Nisa Municipal Pavilion for meals before returning home.
“They will have soup and fruit before heading home, guaranteed with food and undisturbed comfort,” she stated.
Idalina Trindade also noted that efforts to combat the fire in the São Miguel mountains “are progressing favorably.”
Authorities evacuated the villages of Pé da Serra and São Simão, along with parts of Vinagra, in Nisa this afternoon due to a rural fire.
In Vinagra, it has been reported that a woman has been displaced, according to a source from the Alto Alentejo Subregional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection. The extent of damage to her residence is unknown.
Another Civil Protection source reported that two vehicles and an agricultural warehouse have burned in this village.
The Alto Alentejo Subregional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection noted that the fire, which was reported at 12:32 p.m., is consuming forested areas with pine and eucalyptus.
As of 8:05 p.m., 329 personnel, supported by 107 vehicles and two aircraft, were battling the fire, according to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority’s website.
